The 4th was with us today

The 4th was with us today as 33 (thirty-three) 2nd graders successfully claimed their accounts, set their passwords, (the ones they wrote themselves!) and then logged on to their computers using their brand new creds AT THE SAME TIME IN UNDER AN HOUR DURING THE LAST PERIOD ON FRIDAY. They even maintained a pin-drop quiet class (yeah, 33 2nd grade students didn’t talk for almost 5 minutes!) while I called tech support to unlock the two (only two!!!) accounts of students who tried unsuccessfully too many times in a row... oh yeah: I WAS THE ONLY ADULT IN THE ROOM. #maythe4thbewithyou #the4thisstrongwiththisone

When we ask other people to do the work for us, we’ve already lost the battle. We need to teach this to our children.”

Here are techniques I teach to my students, easily adaptable for use at home. Read More...
